Biggest Full Moon in 15 Years!

Friday, 12 December 2008 19:26 by richard

Tonight's full moon in the Northern Hemisphere is the biggest it's been in 15 years.   So I took a couple of shots and got this.

Full Moon from Seabrook, Texas.

Endeavour. Meet Endeavour.

Thursday, 11 December 2008 17:20 by richard

Space Shuttle Endeavour will flew by Johnson Space Center today, circling over JSC between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. while mounted on a modified Boeing 747 shuttle carrier aircraft.

Although a stop at Ellington Field is was planned, the Endeavour flew by and was visible from Ellington Field and the Sonny Carter Training Facility before passing over JSC.

After landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California on Nov. 30, Endeavour is on its cross-country journey back to the Kennedy Space Center.

I took these shots from the Boat Launch near the Clear-Lake Hilton, just about half a mile from the JSC complex.

Endeavour Tower, meet Endeavour
(Clear Lake got it's first High Rise last year, called Endeavour Tower.  I just happened to be in the right place at the right time when the 747/Shuttle package flew by)

Texas? Snow?

Thursday, 11 December 2008 13:37 by Richard

We woke this morning to a nice sprinkle of snow just starting to melt in the lovely blue skied sunshine.

It started about 6pm yesterday evening, and carried on until the wee hours of the morning.

Charlie loves the snow, even though it's only the second time in his life he has actually experienced it.   Denny takes it all in his stride and stays in the house, while Phoebe and Maggie decided that this weird stuff was not for them and they hid in my office.

Just started snowing, but its sticking to the grass already!

The boat took a good coating within minutes.

Charles tries to catch them all.

This morning, its already melted 75%

Nice layer of ice on the car

Wont last long!
