Space Shuttle Endeavour will flew by Johnson Space Center today, circling over JSC between 11:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. while mounted on a modified Boeing 747 shuttle carrier aircraft.
Although a stop at Ellington Field is was planned, the Endeavour flew by and was visible from Ellington Field and the Sonny Carter Training Facility before passing over JSC.
After landing at Edwards Air Force Base in California on Nov. 30, Endeavour is on its cross-country journey back to the Kennedy Space Center.
I took these shots from the Boat Launch near the Clear-Lake Hilton, just about half a mile from the JSC complex.
Endeavour Tower, meet Endeavour
(Clear Lake got it's first High Rise last year, called Endeavour Tower. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time when the 747/Shuttle package flew by)
A T-38 escort
(Endeavour over Clear Lake during it's second pass over JSC)
Final pass over JSC
(Hilton Clear-Lake)
Leaving
(Endeavour leaving Houston for perhaps the very last time.)
